Wanessa Figueiredo Matos, MD

Dr. Wanessa Figueiredo Matos is a pulmonologist with over a decade of experience in respiratory pathologies. She obtained her medical degree from the State University of Para Medical School in Belem, Brazil, and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the State Server of São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil. She completed another residency in pulmonology and tisiology at João de Barros Barreto University Hospital in Belem, Brazil.

Dr. Matos is an expert in advanced pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy. She specializes in pulmonary disease and interventional pulmonology (adult and pediatric), oncology, and infectious diseases, especially respiratory diseases in HIV patients. She also has working experience in outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care as well as in health administration.

Dr. Matos has a great interest in medical and clinical research and is a reliable and motivated medical professional who loves to learn. Her affiliations include the European Respiratory Society, the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, the Brazilian Society of Pulmonology and Tisiology, and the Interstitial Pulmonary Disease Group of Bahia.

Currently living in California, Dr. Matos loves the spring season and enjoys biking, gardening, and cooking healthy food. She believes that a healthy lifestyle is the key to improving immunity and preventing respiratory diseases.
